Google Search Engine Optimization
Article by Katherine Johnson
According to the latest 2009 statistics generated by the StatCounter, a real-time detailed web statistics generator, approximately more than 90 percent of internet users in Asia and the whole world use Google as their primary search engine followed by Yahoo and MSN. Voted four times as the Most Outstanding Search Engine, Google has dominated the search engine optimization landscape for years, and their lead over Yahoo and Live Search is only getting bigger. This crawler-based search engine provides both comprehensive coverage of the web together with great relevancy and significance.
Given that Google is the search engine with the majority of the internet users market share, it is best that one’s website is optimized primarily to Google search engine ranking and standards. If the website follows Google search engine optimization, most probably it is optimized in other search engines for some search engines only mirror Google search results.
This has made companies and website owners become conscious of their Google page rank. However, with Google’s undisclosed and changing Google ranking strategy and algorithm, it is almost impossible to have a fixed or one-time website optimization. At some point, everybody thought that they have developed and come up with the perfect Google search engine optimization plan but as they progress, so did Google. Search engine optimization specialists and professionals are in continuous research and trial-and-error methods to take a hold of how to optimize and maintain their site and improve their Google ranking.
Google’s search engine optimization algorithm has been on constant development. One’s website may have a high Google search engine ranking now but not tomorrow. Google’s constant policy and algorithm changes have brought web developers in question. Before, one can change several details of their site and still keep their Google ranking, but due to changes in algorithm, one can no longer alter the background color or edit the format of the website for it may drop from its Google ranking. There are also instances when what was considered as white-hat search engine optimization techniques then, are now banned and considered black-hat by Google.
Several search engine professionals, who claim to have broken the secret of the Google algorithm, have come up with Google ranking software that can push one’s website in Google search engine ranking and increase its Google page rank. For some, these softwares may work but it is recommended for one to take into consideration the time, money, and effort to be put in these optimization techniques.

Performance Based Search Engine Optimization SEO Company Helps You Achieve Top Rankings in Google, Yahoo, and MSN
Article by Lola Olaru
The multitude of websites present today on the Internet made the competition for the top placement in the natural section of the search engines very fierce. So, we have to admit that it’s quite a big responsibility for Google, Yahoo, and MSN to accurately and fairly establish which 10 websites out of thousands and thousands deserve to be placed on the first page for a certain search query. Let’s imagine a simplified version of the mechanism behind the search engines: think of the Internet as a huge database that contains all websites in it. Each website is labeled as belonging to a certain industry and as responding to certain search queries or keywords, and then graded based on relevance, popularity, user friendliness, technical attributes, etc. When we perform a search query for a certain keyword, the search engines already know which thousands of websites, out of millions, are relevant and should be presented to the visitor. Then, they extract from their database those websites that were labeled as “relevant” for that search query and list them based on the grade they received for that specific keyword. This all happens in a matter of seconds. But how do the search engines establish which websites deserve the top positioning? Each search engine has its own algorithm or mathematical formula for evaluating and grading a website. The closer a website is to meeting the algorithm’s terms, the higher the rankings.
The algorithm behind the “grading” is not made public, but all major search engines provide website design and optimization guidelines for improving rankings that can put us on the right direction. Of course, the intelligent interpretation of these guidelines and the correct implementation of the solutions found is what makes the difference between two SEO companies. Search Engine Optimization is a relatively new industry that has been rapidly embraced by many self proclaimed “SEO experts”, who’ve seen in it one of those rare opportunities to get rich fast. They started to charge huge up front amounts promising the world, but in the end delivering nothing, creating a huge wave of disappointment among business owners. The reason why so many people adventured themselves in the Search Engine Optimization jungle is because everything looks simple from the outside.
Truth is that succeeding in this industry, like in any other industry, takes commitment, continuous training, permanent knowledge acquisition, and mastering all means of online communication. Actually it goes beyond that: it requires a deep understanding of the psychology of the online behavior and search patterns, careful analysis of website statistics and analytics, correct implementation of corrective actions, and creative approach of optimization strategies.
The inability of many SEO companies to deliver the promised results, which had caused huge financial loses and disappointment among business owners, created a new trend in the search optimization arena: Performance Based Search Engine Optimization or the “Pay for Results, not for Promises” approach. According to this new, revolutionary approach of the SEO, a business owner who hires the services of an SEO company to achieve top rankings in Google, Yahoo, and MSN will pay only after the promised results are delivered, and NOT before. We witness a shift in power and control between the service provider and the beneficiary of the service. Performance Based Search Engine Optimization empowers those who use the services of an SEO company, and help them be in control of their finances. This new approach of SEO has already started to filter the participants in this industry, by eliminating those companies that do not employ ethical business practices and do not posses the knowledge and expertise to deliver what they promise, and by promoting the real masters of SEO. Performance Based Search Engine Optimization works like a natural selection process, where the weak ones will be automatically self-destructed and eliminated. Nobody can survive in business if revenues do not come in if results are not delivered, the SEO company will not only be unable to record any income in its books, but will incur huge loses buy investing money in trying to implement an optimization strategy that does not work.
The benefits of the Performance Based SEO are very tangible when it comes to ROI. SEO used to be a huge investment for businesses, but used to bring back in the investors’ pockets very low returns, if any at all. SEO was in many cases a rather huge expenditure than a business investment. The difference between expense and investment stays in the ROI. A business expense can have an indirect influence on the ROI, but it is hardly measurable; this is why, in a financial sense, a business expense is considered a necessary controlled loss (think of office supplies). An investment is supposed to produce an easily measurable profit. In most cases, old SEO tactics used to have a very measurable positive impact on the ROI, but instead of doing so for the business in need of SEO, they were acting solely in the benefit of the SEO Companies. Performance Based Search Engine Optimization on the other hand, where payments are made only after the top results are achieved, became a basically no-risk investment. No results, no payment. It’s as simple as that!
The Internet is a moving target, and trying to control all variables that account for a certain ranking scenario is not a the subject of a hobby. There is no such thing as “Part Time SEO.” The Internet is a market that is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. These should be the business hours of those in charge with exposing and promoting your business on the Internet. Unless an SEO Company can ensure you 24/7 top online presence in the search engines you want for the keywords you want, you should not even consider pursuing such an adventure. It is a huge responsibility to promise top 10 rankings in Google, Yahoo, and MSN, and an SEO company that offers Performance Based Search Engine Optimization with a “Results First-Payment After” approach, should give you the confidence that that they will deliver.

Website Traffic – Google SEO Tip
Google continues to be the number one resource to increase website traffic. A website report is a great method to quickly gain the necessary rankings needed to help increase traffic to your website (and of course enjoy the benefits associated with prominent positions on the search engines).
How SEO for Google can increase website traffic.
To understand how this can happen you first need to understand search.
This is a search page. A searcher enters “keywords” into a search field. When the searcher hits the search button, a page is displayed called the search results page. And here is a search results page.
Your website traffic will increase when it is found here.
There are 2 ways to get your website listed on a search results page.
1.) PPC – you place an ad with Google. You pay Google every time someone clicks on your listing.
2.) Organic results – your website is optimized using SEO best practices. You do not pay Google to be listed.
PPC ads are located on the top of the results page and on the right hand side of the page and organic results are listed below the top PPC ads and on the left hand side of the page.
Website Ranking Highlights
•Number of results indexed
•Displays top 10 results
•search ranking | this is your websites organic placement for a specific or exact keyword phrase
To get website traffic from Google, your website needs to be displayed on the results page so the searcher can click through to your website.
PPC or Pay Per Click VS SEO or Organic Listings – Pros and Cons
ORGANIC: takes time to optimize your website for competitive keyword search rankings
PPC: your website can instantly be displayed on a search result page as long as you are willing to pay higher then others
ORGANIC: because SEO comprises of numerous factors development is harder – SEO is constantly changing therefore you must continuously be optimizing
PPC: the development time mainly consists of writing an ad

ORGANIC: overtime you pay less for your search results rankings – most SEO consultants charge a flat monthly rate
PPC: overtime you pay more for your website listing – the amount you pay is determined by how much others are willing to pay for the keywords phrases you are bidding on
ORGANIC: once a top an organic ranking is accomplished it can last
PPC: once you have reached your budget, your ad or website listing is removed
Interesting Stats:
2010 PPC Spend Billion – received about 15% of clicks
2010 SEO Spend Billion – received about 85% of clicks
Now that you understand a search engine results page… next let’s learn what determines the results that are displayed.
Search engines crawl the web. The task of crawling is performed by software, called a bot or a spider . After a website page is crawled, it is indexed. The indexed pages are stored in a giant database, from where it can be retrieved later. However, just because your website has been crawled and indexed does NOT MEAN it will appear on a search results page.
When a keyword search is preformed, search engines process it – by comparing the keyword in the search request with the indexed pages in the database. Since it is likely the search engine has millions of pages containing the keyword phrase, they start calculating the relevancy of each of the pages in its index to the keyword search.
How Google and others determine your search ranking placement is based on their own proprietary algorithm. It is widely known that there are over 200 different factors an algorithm looks for. On top of that they are constantly change their algorithms.
The last step in the search engine activity is retrieving the results. Basically, this is displaying the endless pages that are sorted from the most worthy, to the least worthy. This process determines your websites search results ranking or placement.
So how can you improve your search ranking and thus your website traffic?
The first thing you need to know, is that search engines are not humans. Humans and search engines view website differently. And although technology advances rapidly, search engines do not see the look and feel of a website. This is SEOGoogleGuru.com’s home page. This is what a searcher will see when they land on this page.
This is the same page… but this is what Google sees when the Google spider visits SEOGoogleGuru.com. Because spiders read the coding behind the website, your website coding needs to be “search engine optimized” to properly communicate with the spider. The good news? You do not need to be a website coder to communicate well with the spiders. Today website coding is created based on your content management system and resources within your system that finally generate the code on each and every page on your website. However, you did need to know SEO best practices.
Website Traffic – Insider Tips
When your website is properly optimized your ability to communicate is enhanced. You want your website and the Google spider to become best friends.
I do not know about you, but I am very selective with my friendships and relationships. The best friendships I have been fortunate in my life to have, have developed over time. Communication, trust, originality and personality are all traits that ultimately determine the level of my friendships.
There are many factors that will determine the strength of your websites relationship with Google. If you want the biggest reward… a prominent search engine ranking on it’s search results page, your website must communicate and deliver a level of trust as soon as possible.
How well your website communicates will ultimately determine:
•how often will the spider return to your website. The more frequently it returns the more opportunities you have to demonstrate your value and continue the relationship.
•what impression your website have with Google. First impressions are important as well as ongoing impressions.
•if it will want to continue the relationship.
When the spider visits your website… you have a limited amount of time to communicate and adopt an ongoing relationship.
Not only does Google provide a substantial vehicle for website traffic, they also provides tools to help you monitor and improve your search engine rankings.
Here are some extra tips to increase website traffic…
1.) Analytics – by adding some code to your website you can analyze your website traffic and make educated changes according to real data. Most people simply view the number of visitors in their analytics but buried in all of those numbers are powerful statistics and actionable information.
2.) Webmaster Tools –again, by adding some code to your website you can use these tools to set up specific site configurations, observe Google’s information it has about your website and view recommendations.
Other important website traffic info to help you communicate with the spiders:
Page titles – each page needs its own – properly optimized
Meta descriptions – unique and opportunity to increase click through rates
Content – unique – relevant – fresh
And last but not least (drum roll please!)… the single most important way to increase website traffic isâ¦
Keywords!
Increase website traffic by understanding how your prospects search aka keyword analysis and then optimize your website based on findings. How do they search? What search phrases do they use? To gain the most targeted traffic to your website… you need to know this.
If you do not know the exact keywords searched for… how can you optimize your page titles, meta descriptions, content etc.? Every piece of content you add online including the content on your website, blog posts, videos, slide shows, power points, press releases to name a few need to be optimized based on specific keyword terms or phrases.
Website Traffic – The Social Media Method
Facebook + Twitter + YouTube = SEO. Today, social media and search engine optimization are connected. The number of facebook links, facebook shares, re-tweets and brand mentions all impact your websites popularity and search ranking.
it is “real time”
can now show up on a search results page
requires involvement
increase website traffic
One of the questions I am often asked is… which social media platforms should my company participate in? The answer is simple. You need to be where your prospects are.
FaceBook, Twitter and YouTube my top 3 recommendations in general, but each marketplace is different.
Good Social Media rules to follow:
1.) do not spread your social media efforts to thin. You cannot be everywhere and put in the time to be effective.
2.) Remember to provide value. Do not focus on you. Become transparent. Concentrate your efforts on solving problems and helping your prospects.
2.) Social Media is a great vehicle to generate traffic back to your website.
Social Media Advantages:
1.) Become the authority in your marketplace or industry
2.) become the go to resource
3.) have conversations!
4.) gain links to your website
5.) reach a massive amount of people
6.) drive traffic back to your website!
While search engines are complicated and constantly changing, there is no doubt they can drive a massive amount of traffic to your website. Social media will help with your SEO efforts.
There are no short cuts. To obtain a top search ranking for relevant keyword search phrases your website needs to be better optimized then any website that is ranked ahead of yours.
A website SEO audit is a great vehicle to uncover website search ranking problems you may not be aware of and can provide you with website traffic recommendations to increase and improve your profits.
Take action! Your website traffic will not increase unless you do something to make it happen.

Free Google Tools To Generate Website Traffic
If you need to generate website traffic to your web page or affiliate page it can some times prove difficult especially if you are on a tight budget. Take for example, pay per click advertising. Depending on your niche you can pay anywhere from 1 or 2 cents to per click on Google AdWords. I don’t know about you but that seems way beyond most peoples budget.
There is of course other ways to generate website traffic, one of the ways to do this is by using free Google tools. One of those tools is “Google Insights” First of all, type the these two words into your web browser and you should be able to see a link Google insights for search. Click on this link and you should be taken directly to the tool. This is a keyword research tool which gives you world wide statistics on almost every keyword you can think of for the past seven or eight years
Lets say you have a website that is called “Best Karaoke Songs” and you are promoting a product like karaoke software. I want you to type the keyword “professional karaoke software” into the tool and see what results come up. We can see that the keyword peeks in the Months leading up to Christmas. You may ask why does it peek at Christmas, simple answer is everybody likes to sing karaoke at Christmas. You can also see that from the regional interest that it has been mostly searched for by people living in the United States.
Now that we have used our free tool, what we need to do next is try and turn our keyword into targeted traffic. First of all we know that people are searching for our keyword round Christmas time, so you want to come up with ideas of using this information, IE with article marketing built around the keyword, a Google AdWords campaign around Christmas time using the keyword in that campaign with I highly optimised landing page and a good keyword density to keep our cost per click down, meaning your keyword in the title, first paragraph and then add your keyword about 3% throughout the rest of your landing page. This is just an example and depending on your niche it is highly likely the results will be different every time.
As I am sure you are aware this is just one of many free Google tools to generate website traffic, but as my example above shows it can be a very powerful way of generating targeted leads to your web page, and we all know that targeted leads means Sales.
Want to see a deceptively simply system that sends targeted leads and traffic to any website within 15 minutes? Philip Murphy has been generating hundreds of targeted leads every Month by using this free system. Sign up to see how he does it by following the link below!

You know that Google uses back links to size up your website and determine its ranking. You also know that it wants to see quality back links, and if you want to rank high on the search engine results pages, you need to get quality links that are relevant to your keywords. But what is a quality link? If you’re not sure how to decide whether you should try to get a back link from a particular page or web site, this article may help guide your decision.
Link building is the most important part of search engine optimization activity targeting the Google search engine. As an overview, this search engine relies on links to determine the reputation of the page. This is analogous to citations in the world of scientific or academic papers. A single quality and relevant link from a trusted and authoritative source is equivalent to thousands of low-quality and irrelevant links.
It is common sense that links from these types of sources are desirable because they are powerful. Sources of such links speak with authority and are popular and expert in their own fields. Therefore if you get references from these types of documents, there is something in your work that catches their attention, and in the long run, you may become trusted and authoritative also.
